Georgina Romero of Hockinson swimming is The Columbian 2025-26 Week 1 high school athlete of the week, sponsored by Killer Burger.

Romero picked up 148of the 372 votes cast this week to win the honor.

The junior was the top point scorer at the Sprint Pentathlon meet at Mark Morris, winning the 25 IM, 100 fly and 25 back.

In the included video, Romero answers three questions posed by her teammate: Would she rather drive a motorcycle or sports car, fly or breathe underwater and be a rodeo clown or matador?

Nominees are selected by The Columbian staff after a review of the previous week’s results. Suggestions for nominees can by made by anyone, but must be received by 6 p.m. Sunday for consideration.
