KANSAS CITY, Mo. —

A man was killed Tuesday night in a shooting near Gardner Avenue and North Chouteau Avenue.

Officers were dispatched just before 8:30 p.m. on a report of gunfire. Advertisement

When they arrived, they found a vehicle stopped near the intersection with an adult male inside who was unresponsive.

First responders performed emergency aid before EMS transported the man to a hospital, where he later died of his injuries.

Detectives believe the victim was inside the vehicle when the shots were fired but have not determined whether the gunfire came from someone in another car or from a person on foot.

As of Tuesday night, police said no arrests had been made and no suspect had been identified.
