ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —

The city of Albuquerque is working on a project on East Central Avenue to help keep pedestrians safe.

One part of the project is installing fencing along medians near Pennsylvania, Wyoming, and Louisiana to guide pedestrians on where they can cross. The fencing construction is expected to take six more weeks.

"I think it's a waste of money. I think it's a waste of time. It's not going to change anything. They [pedestrians] just walk around it. It didn't stop anything. It just stops them from walking across that one piece of median right there," said Kristopher Miller, the owner of RCC Paint and Body.
