SALT LAKE CITY — The Other Side Village secured $30 million for its phase two expansion, adding nearly 400 cottages offering homes, jobs, and new opportunities for Utahns experiencing chronic homelessness.
“It’s the kind of community where you see people stepping out of their home saying ‘Hi.’ We do our laundry together, we go shopping together,” said Laurie McQueen, a resident at The Other Side Village.
The Other Side Village is permanent supportive housing for people who have experienced chronic homelessness. Residents are allowed to stay as long as they’d like.
It has given people like McQueen a home, community and opportunity.
