Jimmy Kimmel returned to late-night television by stepping out to a one-minute standing ovation.

"Jimmy Kimmel Live!" returned to the airwaves on Tuesday, Sept. 23, a day after Disney announced that it reached the decision to allow the comedian back on ABC. The show did not air in some markets after Sinclair Broadcast Group and Nexstar Media Group said they would continue to preempt the show.

The audience, on their feet, cheered and clapped as Kimmel returned following a suspension of nearly a week. He began his monologue by joking, “Anyway, as I was saying before I was interrupted."
