VISTA, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Maryland Elementary School students were visited by a mobile dental clinic on Tuesday that provided accessible dental care.
The clinic is part of Vista Community Clinic’s (VCC) A+ Teeth Program, an initiative to help students receive proper dental treatment. VCC’s mobile clinic is a 29-foot-long vehicle visiting students in Oceanside and Vista.
Maryland Elementary Principal Renée Evans said that it is their goal to make sure that all of students' needs are met, not only their educational ones. The Vista Unified School District (VUSD) partnered with the clinic, hoping to eliminate barriers to dental care, such as transportation.
“You cannot learn if you have a toothache,” Evans said.
