The city of Corpus Christi is continuing to move forward with efforts to secure groundwater out of San Patricio County — most recently, agreeing to spend nearly $1 million to maintain its progress.

The City Council on Sept. 23 approved a proposed, nonbinding terms sheet for the purchase of groundwater rights, and about $928,000 for the services of attorneys, surveyors, hydrologists and engineers to aid in the city’s negotiations with the Evangeline groundwater project developers, according to officials.
