A major cold front is making its way through Texas and is expected to bring a round of strong storms to Houston and surrounding communities on Wednesday.

The Storm Tracker 2 radar shows rain and thunderstorm activity entering the northern parts of the area, including College Station, Huntsville, and Livingston, during the first half of the afternoon. By around 4 p.m., the storms are forecast to move into the Houston area along I-10, impacting places like Katy, downtown Houston, and Beaumont.
The most intense storms are expected to push toward the Gulf Coast by about 6 p.m., creating an afternoon and early evening weather event. After 9 p.m., most of the thunderstorms are forecast to clear out, with lingering showers possible overnight and into early Thursday morning.
