BETHPAGE, N.Y. — The U.S. Ryder Cup team, like the country it represents, isn’t known for subtlety.

While European fans are putting pen to paper creating the next clever first-tee fight song, American fans are putting the finishing touches on face paint and mentally rehearsing chants of ‘U-S-A, U-S-A!’

Inside the team room, Europe has a consistency in message, a philosophy of passing the torch from one team to the next. Team USA seems to develop a new identity for one wild week every two years.
