CFL fans are divided on the changes to gameplay announced Monday; however, most want Canadian football to stay distinct from the NFL, according to a Spectator survey.
More than 500 readers responded to an online survey over a 25-hour period following the announcement of major changes to the league. Changes announced by Canadian Football League commissioner Stewart Johnston include shortening the field to 100 yards, shrinking the end zone and doing away with single points — otherwise known as rouges — on certain plays.

Of the 507 survey responses, just over half of respondents, 278 people, said they disliked the rule changes, while 167 approved.
