San Francisco announced it will follow vaccine recommendations from a coalition of western states amid continuing upheaval in the realm of federal public-health guidance.

The San Francisco Department of Public Health “is aligning with the COVID-19 vaccine guidance provided by the California Department of Public Health,” according to a statement a department spokesperson shared with The Examiner on Monday.

“Both the COVID-19 and flu vaccines are available at health systems and pharmacies, and we encourage members of the public to schedule an appointment with their health care provider,” the statement said. “People without insurance may be eligible to enroll in the San Francisco Health Network or other programs.”
