Pensioners may need to claim winter heating payments of up to £305

Pension Age Winter Heating Payment (PAWHP) has now replaced Winter Fuel Payme nts for people over State Pension age in Scotland. One-off payments of £101.70, £203.40 and £305.10 will be issued automatically to most pensioners born on or before September 21, 1959 with an income at or below £35,000. ‌

Similar to the Winter Fuel Payment policy, pensioners in Scotland will be able to opt out receiving the payment before the deadline on October 13. However, guidance on MYGOV.SCOT also states that a “small number of people will need to apply” before the deadline on March 31, 2026. ‌
