LAKE BUENA VISTA — Phelicia Blake, a Williamsburg native, was recently announced as one of the next Disney World Ambassadors.

She joins Kylee Withers, from Texas, as the Ambassador Program celebrates its 60th anniversary this year. The program was created by Walt Disney in 1965 to help share the news about everything happening at Disneyland Resort in California, and the first Walt Disney World Ambassador was named in 1970, just before the resort opened.

Disney Ambassadors support and represent cast members at Disney parks, resorts and experiences around the world. They also lead and celebrate Disney cast, crew, Imagineers and employees through major milestones of new openings and anniversaries, while also being there to recognize the magic made every day.
