The National Hurricane Center is monitoring a large tropical wave in the Atlantic that could develop into a tropical depression.
Invest 94-L is producing disorganized showers, thunderstorms and gusty winds for most of the Windward and Leeward Islands.
This wave is forecast to move west-northwestward at 15 to 20 mph.
Heavy rainfall and gusty winds are expected in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands on Wednesday and across the Dominican Republic on Thursday, according to NHC.
The system is expected to slow down and shift northwest when it arrives in the southwestern Atlantic near the Bahamas later this week.
A tropical depression could develop in that area.
The NHC advised that the following regions should keep an eye on the system: the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, the Turks and Caicos
