Shillong: In a significant political development, Shemborlang Rynjah has tendered his resignation from the post of Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), citing health concerns.

In a statement issued today, Rynjah explained that his decision was compelled by personal health issues. Members of the Voice of the People Party (VPP) in the Council expressed mixed emotions over his resignation, noting that while it was difficult to accept, his well-being must take priority. They extended their respect and prayers for his speedy recovery.

Meanwhile, the VPP Parliamentary Party in KHADC has entrusted the party leadership with the responsibility of handling all council affairs, including the selection of a new leader or the next CEM.
