Industry representatives and experts are gathering in St. John’s for the 30th annual Cold Harvest Conference.
“Responsible Aquaculture, Growing and Sustaining our Communities” is the theme of this year’s conference.
The executive director of the Newfoundland Aquaculture Industry Association, Keith Sullivan, says participants are coming in from across the province, country and from around the world.
He calls it a “marquee event” on the Canadian aquaculture calendar.
Dr. Ken Coates, an analyst on Indigenous rights and economic development, is among the keynote speakers.
Federal fisheries minister Joanne Thompson will speak to the gathering virtually.
The conference is taking place today and tomorrow at the Sheraton Hotel in St. John’s.
