Stansted Airport was thrown into choas after a fire delayed departures

Nottingham Forest fans have been caught up in delays after a fire caused travel chaos at Stansted Airport.

A fire at the major airport has caused severe delays on Wednesday, September 24.

A fire at the airport, which occurred in part of its departure area at around 3.30am this morning, suspended departures temporarily as security was closed while it was put out.

Stansted's security reopened at around 6am, but the airport has warned that passengers could still expect to face delays due to the backlog of passengers.

They added that the disruption is unrelated to the delays at the Stansted Express and Cross Country rail services to the airport.
