DENVER (KDVR) — A $5.89 million project that will add 35 cameras to U.S. 36 and connect fiber optic lines from Interstate 25 to Lyons via Highway 66 is set to begin next Monday.

On Sept. 29, the Colorado Department of Transportation is set to kick off a new technology project that will bring fiber optic cable from I-25 to Lyons along Highway 66, which will help support the new U.S. 36 traffic cameras.

Once that phase is complete, crews will move to U.S. 36 between Estes Park and Lyons to install traffic cameras.
