Meet the Mets

The Mets won a thriller against the Cubs 9-7. David Peterson gave up five runs in just 1.1 innings, a devastating blow for an already beleaguered pitching staff. Huascar Brazobàn gave up a run in 2.2 innings, and Gregory Soto allowed a run in o.2 innings. But the rest of the relievers used (Ryne Stanek, Tyler Rogers, Brooks Raley, and Edwin Díaz) held the Cubs scoreless across 4.1 innings, with Díaz recording a six out save. Francisco Lindor drove in three runs, including a solo home run to lead off the game, Brandon Nimmo hit a three-run home run to tie the game in the fifth inning, and Pete Alonso drove in a run as well.
