For years in Indiana, a few powerful insiders wielded a firm grasp over how the Indiana Economic Development Corp. spent the largesse of millions of taxpayer dollars allocated to them each year.

Dave Roberts was a top leader at the IEDC who oversaw former Gov. Eric Holcomb’s signature $1 billion plan to invest in entrepreneurship in the state. Paul Mitchell was in the private sector after serving as former Gov. Mitch Daniels' economic development policy guru. And Chad Pittman , another Daniels-era staffer, worked for the Purdue Research Foundation , which invests in Purdue-connected entrepreneurship.
