HARTFORD, Conn. — Hartford police announced this week that several arrests have been made in a human trafficking investigation involving three young girls as victims, and there may be more arrests to come.

As of Tuesday, seven suspects, most of them from Hartford, have been arrested following a months-long investigation.

The Hartford Police Department's Special Investigation Division, with the Regionalized Human Trafficking Recovery Task Force, launched an investigation into reports of human trafficking in the area in May.

Investigators recovered three young girls who were victims and got them back safe with their families, police said.

Police said the following suspects were arrested and face the following charges:

Ahmad Compton, 36 - Three counts of trafficking people, three counts
