Several charges were handed out Sunday after the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with several other departments, conducted a saturation patrol resulting in the seizure of two firearms, 39 grams of marijuana and 2.5 grams of methamphetamine.
Sunday, the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office worked with Pender and Duplin County Sheriff’s Offices, along with Smithfield and Clinton Police Departments, to conduct a saturation patrol in an effort to enhance roadway safety. Two checking stations were set up at the intersections of Bonnetsville Road and Laurel Lake Road, and Church Road and Seven Mile Church Road. As a result of the patrol, a total of 67 charges were doled out by police, including 54 traffic violations and 13 criminal charges.
