A woman who claimed she was “testing security” was arrested after breaking into a hangar at Midway Airport and jumping behind the wheel of a shuttle bus while also allegedly saying “Free Palestine,” according to a police report.

Kristen Burke, 39, and of the Southwest Side’s Clearing neighborhood, was charged with criminal trespass to an airport, which is a felony. Additionally, she faces two misdemeanor trespassing charges, police said.

The incident unfolded about 4:10 a.m. Monday when officers responded to a call of an unauthorized person on the airfield at Signature Aviation, 5821 S. Central Ave.

There, police found Burke, who said “I was just testing security” and also “Free Palestine,” while in a secure area, according to a police report.
