PITTSBURGH, Pa. (WTAJ) -- Two students were hospitalized after police responded to a "critical incident" at Carrick High School Wednesday morning.

Pittsburgh Public Safety confirmed that two students were stabbed in their abdomens, while a third has slight lacerations.

The actor, a male student, also suffered a laceration and was treated at the scene. He was then taken into custody.

The school was immediately placed on lockdown following the incident.

A spokesperson for Pittsburgh Public Schools said a student used a "small knife" to injure three other students, CBS News reports.
