BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The Baton Rouge Fire Department says a man was taken into custody on Tuesday, Sept. 23, in connection with an early September house fire.
Investigators say Joseph Morgan IV, 31, faces one count of simple arson following an investigation into a fire in 4600 block of Glen Oaks Drive on Sept. 5. According to officials, they responded to the fire shortly before midnight on that day. Upon arrival, fire crews observed smoke coming from the home with multiple points of origin inside.
After getting the fire under control, investigators were called to conduct an investigation. They later determined the cause of the fire to be arson. Officials say during the course of the Morgan was identified as a suspect. Investigators allegedly learned Morgan was known to the occupant
