BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The National Hurricane Center is monitoring two tropical waves over the Atlantic this week that have the potential for tropical depression and/or tropical storm formation.

Invest AL-93 (93L): A tropical wave east of the Leeward Islands has become better defined this afternoon.

This trend is likely to continue and may result in advisories needing to be issued later today or by Thursday morning.

This wave is expected to move north of the Leeward Islands, but the islands may still encounter gale-force winds over the coming days.

Invest AL-94 (94L): A tropical wave over the northeast Caribbean Sea is moving west-northwest. This wave is expected to slow down and turn northwest later this week.
