The Department of Veterans Affairs is providing more than $5.5 million to support Veterans in Minnesota who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of losing their homes.

The Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans will receive over $5 million through the VA’s Supportive Services for Veteran Families program. The funding will help Veterans access housing and housing counseling, healthcare, financial planning, childcare, legal assistance, and transportation.

Judith Johnson-Mekota, interim director of Veterans Integrated Service Network 23, says these services are key to preventing homelessness and providing stability for Veterans and their families.
