His words were called deranged, undiplomatic and worse, but Donald Trump was right: The United Nations is useless at stopping wars.

In Trump’s long and rambling speech at the UN on Tuesday, he mentioned war more than two dozen times, spoke of the wars he helped end, and called for the wars between Ukraine and Russia, and Israel and Hamas to stop.

As he spoke about helping end several wars around the world – seven by his count, he hit upon a point few are willing to say out loud: The United Nations has done nothing to stop any of these wars.
