Guwahati, Sep 24: In a major crackdown on narcotics, Assam Police seized drugs worth Rs 90 crore in an interstate bust in Cachar district, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Wednesday. The operation led to the arrest of two drug peddlers and the seizure of 3 lac YABA tablets from a vehicle that had entered Assam from a neighbouring state.

Sharing the update on X (formerly Twitter), CM Sarma wrote, "In an anti-narcotics op, Cachar Police intercepted a vehicle coming from a neighbouring State and seized 3 lac YABA tablets. Two peddlers have been arrested and the only high they will now experience is in jail."

The seizure is being hailed as one of the largest in recent months, with the international market value pegged at Rs 90 crore.
