Emma Watson is breaking her silence on being banned from driving in the UK for six months.

If you don’t know the story, the 35-year-old Harry Potter star was reportedly caught going 38mph in a 30mph zone while driving last year on July 31, 2024 in Oxford, England. At the time, Emma already had 9 points on her license. As a result, she was made to pay a fine of $1,396, and was given a six month ban on driving .

Now, she’s making her first comments about the news, which made International headlines.

“I recently started riding a bicycle. Yes, I started riding a bicycle before my driving ban, but now it’s particularly fortuitous that I also ride a bicycle for that reason,” Emma said on an episode of the “On Purpose with Jay Shetty” podcast .
