Downtown Portland bridge sidewalk closure will impact pedestrians, cyclists, create traffic delays

The Hawthorne Bridge ’s north westbound sidewalk and bike lane will close Thursday, according to Multnomah County officials.

The lane closures will take place between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. as maintenance crews replace a barrier gate. They will likely cause traffic delays to and from downtown Portland, the county said.

Westbound cyclists and pedestrians will still be able to use the bridge’s south sidewalk, officials said.

No other Willamette River bridge closures are planned.
