PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - A Salem man has been arrested on multiple charges after police say he exposed himself to a woman and her family before firing a rifle at their car.

Just after midnight on Wednesday, Salem Police responded to reported gunfire in a parking lot on Silverton Road near Hawthorne Ave NE.

Witnesses told officers a man, identified by investigators as 53-year-old Jeffrey Holland, exposed himself to a woman and her family while they were sitting in their car.

Investigators say Holland then started banging on the window, went into his nearby shop, grabbed a rifle, and fired at the car as they tried to drive away.

The woman reportedly called 911 and told dispatchers they were being chased by a truck.

Officers were able to find and stop both cars, arresting Holland.
