SANDY Ore. (KPTV) - Jeff Flood, 40, was killed in a head-on crash on Interstate 84 on Saturday . Now, his community in Sandy is mourning his death and remembering him as a beloved coach and friend.

Oregon State Police (OSP) responded to a crash near Milepost 24 of I-84 just before 4 a.m. Saturday.

According to OSP, the preliminary investigation indicated a BMW X3, driven by Autumn Breeze Willis of Beaverton, was traveling west in the eastbound lanes when it struck Flood’s Tesla Model Y. OSP said the crash caused Flood’s Tesla to become engulfed in flames and he died at the scene. Willis was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, according to OSP.

But instead of focusing on how Flood died, his friends are remembering him for how he lived his life.
