'Hate has no home in Avon and Somerset', council leaders and police say View Image

The Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for Avon and Somerset Police , and council leaders across Bristol, Somerset and Gloucestershire, have written a joint statement against hate crime, saying "hate has no home" in the region.

The statement comes as the PCC and five local authority leaders acknowledge that several racially aggravated incidents or crimes have been reported recently across the Avon and Somerset region.

These include protests and demonstrations involving flags, like the one in Bristol earlier this month .
