CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Western North Carolina continues to recover from the destruction wrought by Helene a year ago. In the wake of the hurricane, volunteers have poured their time and talents into the region to help residents rebuild. One project that was launched to tell the stories of resilience is the Appalachia Comics Project , led by writer Andrew Aydin - who once served as the digital director and policy adviser to the late Georgia congressman John Lewis and co-authored Lewis' autobiographical graphic novel trilogy March, which was the congressman's #1 New York Times best-selling trilogy.
