WOODSTOCK — Family front porches are for flowerpots, gnomes and rocking chairs. Not so for Ryker Dalton. The Woodstock 9-year-old has a porch that’s so much more — it’s a stage.

Several times a week, not long after hopping off the school bus, Ryker steps onto his porch, plugs his guitar into his amp and belts out tunes normally heard inside packed arenas and sold-out stadiums. While his audiences this fall might be just a handful of neighbors, family members and curious passersby, Ryker performs with the energy of Mick Jagger, David Lee Roth and the late Ozzy Osbourne.

“But I don’t really care if there’s an audience,” Ryker said with a grin. “I just wanna entertain. So I go on my porch and just do it! It makes me happy, and it makes other people happy.”
