A New York Times bestselling author is coming to Winchester to discuss how George Washington's time in the city during the mid-1700s helped to shape the man who went on to become the first president of the United States.
Peter Stark, who lives in Montana, will make two appearances to promote his 2018 book, " Young Washington: How Wilderness and War Forged America's Founding Father, " and his latest release, 2023's " Gallop Toward the Sun: Tecumseh and Harrison's Struggle for the Destiny of a Nation ."
From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Winchester's French and Indian War Foundation will present "An Evening with Peter Stark" at the George Washington Hotel at 103 E. Piccadilly St. in downtown Winchester. Stark is expected to discuss how events in Washington's life, including the French
