A project to bring an ambulatory surgical center to Hoover continues to move forward, according to the head of the city’s healthcare authority.

Chairman Alan Paquette said the authority has a deadline of Nov. 3 to find an operator for the surgical center at Riverwalk Village and is currently talking to potential candidates.

With two already being considered, a third entered the picture in the past week.

“We’re confident the deadline can be met,” Paquette said.

Riverwalk Village is a mixed-use development located on a 90-acre tract near Riverchase Parkway that includes 450,000 square feet of existing corporate offices. Work began on homes there earlier this year.
