HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (WTOC) - Nearly $7 million in FEMA aid has been earmarked for disaster recovery operations in South Carolina.
The funds are part of $12.7 million from the Federal Emergency Management Agency for several operations across the Southeast.
The town of Hilton Head Island will be getting $2.1 million designated for the Hilton Head Island Beach Restoration Project . The funds will go toward permanently repair damage from Hurricane Dorian.
The South Carolina Office of the Adjutant General is getting $3.4 million for emergency protective measures. This includes debris clearance, emergency search and rescue support, and aid distribution after Hurricane Helene.
