The shooting took place earlier today at a field office in Dallas, Texas.
Dallas police chief Daniel Comeaux provided an update this afternoon, amid conflicting reports about casualties.
He said that at about 6.40am local time, police received a call about the shooting.
They later learned that four people were shot - two were dead at the scene, including the attacker.

FBI Special Agent Joe Rothrock said the FBI is investigating the incident as an act of targeted violence.
Rounds found near the attacker contained messages that are anti-ICE in nature, Mr Rothrock adds.
US Vice President JD Vance wrote on X: "The obsessive attack on law enforcement, particularly ICE, must stop. I'm praying for everyone hurt in this attack and for their families.
