SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - According to the Lane County District Attorney's Office, Detective Brian Dunn was legally justified in using deadly force in the fatal officer-involved shooting of Daniel Kahn during a July 30 incident.
The incident unfolded after Kahn, identified via an FBI fingerprint scanner, engaged in a violent confrontation with Springfield police officers. The situation began when Kahn, described as disorderly and agitated, caused a disturbance at a Chase Bank on Gateway Boulevard. After leaving the bank, he was found by Officer Blaser near the LTD bus terminal, where he refused to comply with commands and became aggressive.
