Bob Mendes, the chief development officer in Mayor Freddie O’Connell’s office, is leaving his role for a job in the private sector next month.
In a statement announcing his departure, Mendes noted this month marks 10 years since he was first elected as an at-large member of the Metro Nashville Council, where he served for two terms. He joined O’Connell’s staff as a top adviser after he won election in 2023.
Mendes, in his statement, highlights several accomplishments during that time, including shepherding a develo
