SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Bullets with a slur engraved on the side were left on the doorstep of the GLO center, a nonprofit that supports the LGBTQ+ community in Springfield.

With Pride on C Street being held this weekend, organizers were worried about safety, but ultimately felt the event was too important to cancel.

"It's an unfortunate thing that we do have to be concerned about our safety, but we are very confident that we're going to be able to have a safe and fun morning and afternoon on Saturday," said Aaron Schekorra, the Glo Center's executive director.

Schekorra says the day they found those bullets, they were debating on canceling Pride on C Street. However, neighboring businesses and community members offered their support, which helped in the decision to go through with the festiv
