FLASHING LIGHTS
The deployment of speed cameras by municipalities could have been a useful tool for road safety but as the saying goes, give them an inch, they’ll take a mile. The endless signage accompanying the cameras is both distracting and confusing, resulting in drivers paying less attention to conditions on the road and more on the times the camera is in use. A simple yellow flashing light indicating when a speed camera is in use would easily be recognized as a reminder to slow down in the zone.
