NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — We’ll likely get a break in the rain for a few hours this evening, but showers and storms are expected to redevelop overnight and continue into Thursday morning. Rain could last through midday Thursday, especially near the coast, before gradually tapering off. The actual cold front won’t push through until later Thursday, reaching the coastal waters sometime Friday. Even before the front arrives, Thursday will feel a bit cooler thanks to the clouds and rain. Overnight lows will drop into the mid-60s to low 70s—about 5 degrees cooler than Wednesday night.
By Friday, the cold front should move through the entire region, bringing in noticeably drier and more comfortable air. Dew points will fall into the mid-60s, and humidity levels will be much lower. Rain could linger
