TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - As newly elected Rep. Adelita Grijalva prepares to take her late father Raúl Grijalva's seat in Congress, she shares her plans to work with both Democrats and Republicans. Grijalva emphasizes her readiness to bridge divides in a more polarized political climate than when her father first entered office 22 years ago.

On taking her father's seat, Grijalva said, "We're different people but our values are the same."

She remains open-minded as she steps into her new role, stating, "I think it's important to walk in there without any preconceived ideas. A lot of people say, well, that person is this—I'm not walking in with any of those," Grijalva said.
