NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - An unsanctioned event at Tennessee State University on Tuesday is raising safety concerns.

This comes after conservative activists showed up on campus, which led to the police being called out to the event.

Tensions boiled Tuesday afternoon as students and activists discussed various topics.

Organizer, Fearless Debates, set up signs reading “DEI should be illegal” and “deport all illegals.”

The school claims since the group didn’t have advance approval or permit, which is required for events, so TSU Police eventually came and shut the demonstration down.
