A high school football player in Michigan has been hospitalized after an opposing player belly flopped on him during a game last week.

Colton Mims of Lakeshore High School was knocked down by an offensive lineman from Kalamazoo Central High School during a junior varsity game last Thursday.

After knocking Mims down, the Kalamazoo offensive lineman, who is much bigger than Mims, jumped up into the air and landed on him with his stomach.

Courtney Mims, the mother of Colton, spoke with WSBT-TV about the incident and shared that her son suffered two broken vertebrae in his lower spine from the offensive lineman jumping on him.
