Beginning this week, Virginia taxpayers can check to see whether they are eligible for a tax rebate of up to $400 that is being paid this fall.

Eligible Virginia taxpayers will receive tax rebates of up to $400 for joint filers, or up to $200 for individual filers. Taxpayers who incurred tax liability in 2024 and filed or will file their returns prior to Nov. 3, 2025, may be eligible for the rebate.

Those who filed their state taxes prior to July 1 will be sent rebates by Oct. 15, according to the office of Gov. Glenn Youngkin.

Taxpayers who received a state tax refund by direct deposit this year should expect to receive their rebate by direct deposit in the same bank account. All others will receive a paper check in the mail.
