Washington County sheriff’s deputies and Blair firefighters pulled the body of an unidentified man from the shore of the Missouri River northeast of Blair.
The body was recovered at 1:13 p.m. Tuesday, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release on Thursday.
The Sheriff’s Office said it is working with Nebraska Game and Parks, Iowa Department of Natural Resources and the Monona County Sheriff’s Office in Iowa to identify the body. An autopsy has been scheduled for Wednesday.
The man is at least the fourth person found dead in the Missouri River in the region this year.
On April 15, Laiana Green, 18; Lah K Tray Moo, 18; and Eh Cress Moo, 11, were swept into the river at N.P. Dodge Park in Omaha. Their bodies were found two weeks later.
